Reuse & Repurpose: Trashy Chandeliers

When I was in Croatia at the beginning of the year, we made a side trip to Lubljana, Slovenia, where I spied these trash-to treasure chandeliers gracing one of the main squares.

Above, a group of tossed-out plastic buckets got a red coat of paint and are skewered by discarded metal pipes for a festive focal point hanging from a tree.

Gimme a beat! This enchanting lovely glimmers with pendants fashioned out of old CDs.

Lost your gloves? Maybe they're spinning on the old bicycle wheels in this creation.

Cut it out! These pieces of metal were fashioned into a glimmering, glittering orb.

By splitting these bottles from the bottom up and painting them gold, they soon dazzled as a hovering bouquet of fanciful flowers.

Ding dong. Flower pots calling! With expanses of wire and a dozen colored balls, these containers became the belle of the ball!

The Elegant Thrifter

  1. I love it. I'm always amazed at the creativity people have. Wonderful use to someone elses cast-offs.
