Reuse & Repurpose: Making Holiday Cards

Here's a peak at how I repurposed the "Royalies" I showed you last week by adding them to the collage of images I scanned from a vintage Christmas book for my holiday cards.

Glitter to come!

Always Frugal, Always Fabulous,

The Elegant Thrifter

  1. What charming cards, Stan! They really evoke nostalgic feelings of childhood and Christmas past.

I bought some beautiful old china at an estate sale that had paper doilies between the plates to prevent scratching. Coffee filters could have served the same purpose, but it just wouldn't have been as special, would it?

  2. I recognize that picture of the cookies! It's from an old Farm Journal cookbook I've had for years. I have some of those old paper doilies - and I may just try out your suggestion with some of them!

  3. Heidi, You are absolutely right! It's a scan from one of my favorite books my sister gave me for Christmas last year. Stan

  4. Adore gingerbread men! (dont know why they are all men) and the pic takes me back LOL! Looks delightfully thriftalicious!
