If you're like I am, you always want to see what's inside a luxury label's shopping bag, especially this one found in my compactor room. Want to take a peek?

  1. Woooah, it's certainly Christmas for you! That's a lot of amazing free goodies! I think my favorite is the coffee cups, beautiful!

And I love your Christmas tree; it's never too early for Christmas. I want all my gifts wrapped and knocked out by the end of November so I can hibernate all December!

  2. I have to say that I love your little blog. (And I say "little" in the best sense -- your brevity, articulate observations and small doses of whimsical fun make it a must-open in my fb newsfeed.) Plus, I love vintage items of every ilk, precious or common, they're each a lovely piece of the past. Thank you!!

  3. Holy Moly Stan! What a CRAZY EXCELLENT FREE FIND! Or should I say, FINDS! I was excited just over the Prada bag, that is pretty fun:) But whoa, I can't believe what was inside and am thrilled to pieces that Veli nabbed it! You guys have found the most amazing things for free down in that compactor room. Maybe start having coffee down there and see what all comes in!
    Hugs, Sonya

  5. You're too precious, Stan! Love your neighbors, and all of the Prada bag finds! Now, just look for people on your floor wearing Prada, and you can bypass the compactor room (or, is that more fun?) Happy Holidays! XO

  9. WOW!!! I think I would post a sign on the compactor saying before placing anything in the compactor please call me. The Homer Laughlin items are wonderful. It looks like heavy ironstone. I love cheap or free. Went to a Fire Department sale today and got 2 Wearever cookie sheets still in their wrap for $2.00 and a compact disc player still in package for $2.00. Most of my Christmas shopping is done that way. The Christmas arrangements I put on my blog this week were brass containers bought at yardsales for $1.00 each and the flowers came from a yardsale for 25 cents each and they still had the outrageous price tags on them. In this day and time Thrift shops and yardsales are the only way to go!!!

  11. Hi Stan: I have followed your blog for almost a year now and eagerly await each new entry with the anticipation of a child on Christmas morning. Your posts are refreshing, informative and deliciously descriptive. You should write a book...wait, you already did!! Anyway, thank you for sharing your life. I would love an autographed copy of your book as a Christmas gift for my teenage daughter, Allison. Check out her blog sometime - she's only 17. She's been a good apprentice.
