Fabulous & Frugal Fun: A Stupendous Stoop!

As I mentioned yesterday, my creative pals Michael Quinn and Heather Kerr threw a stupendous stoop sale last weekend that lured me, armed with a Zip-Loc bag full of coins, all the way from Manhattan out to ogle the wares set up in front of Heather's apartment in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.

You might remember this entertaining duo from The Find: The Housing Works Book of Decorating With Thrift Shop Treasures, Flea Market Objects, and Vintage Details and the vintage tailgate party they curated to appear within its pages.

The offerings at the sale were incredible and included amazing relics from events they've crafted together in the past. Here's Michael in a photo taken by Michelle Talan at last year's launch party for The Find. And the lovely señorita serving shots? Why, that would be Heather at the last Christmas party laced with a Mexican theme.

As for the stoop sale, why don't I just let the video take you there with me?

  1. Stan, your book looks wonderful! I just read about it over at Bill's blog (Affordable Accoutrements) and dropped by to visit.

There is very little that can compare with that feeling you get when you suddenly happen upon something that is wonderful and a great price. Kind of makes your pulse race just to think about it, and being a magpie and a lover of shiny objects, mine tends to race a lot. ;-)

Enjoyed meeting you today and am looking forward to reading your blog.

    XO,

    Sheila

  10. Hi Stan!

I'm popping over from Bill's AA, too. I was not aware of many of the things he told us about you!! How very kind of you to offer a signed copy of your book for Bill's *blogoversary* give-away.

I just went to my library's online site & requested the fine, just in case I don't win. I am anxious to read it & learn the secrets of spotting hidden treasures!
I'm #32 in line for it, so I guess it will be awhile...unless, of course, I win the give-away & get my own copy!
    Thanks for the opportunity,

    fondly,
    Rett

  33. I loved seeing Michael and Heather's stoop sale, but it only made me wish that I had been there with my own plastic baggie full of coins (note to self: start saving coinage instead of blowing it on candy). Michael and Heather are obviously a fun and talented duo that are superstars in their line of work!
